Yes I haven't made much lately, this I know. However I find myself addicted to seeing what is going on in the world around me. I can spend hours browsing personal blogs of crafters, websites dedicated to making things and also finding the perfect handmade gifts on ETSY. I think one of my biggest things has been listening to different crafty podcasts on the way to work and on the way home, ones that introduce me to different people out there who are enjoying a life of living creatively. When I first started Coloredsprinkles it was interviews of different people who owned their own indie craft businesses. I enjoyed coming up with interview questions and putting it all together to put out there into the world to share with others who might read my blog. Well I am going back to my roots and I am starting up a blog dedicated to just that. I look forward to getting back into this and getting to know numerous inspiring people out there and then being able to share it with you.

The new blog will be dedicated to all things handmade; ideas, inspiration, eye candy, any and everything indie.

I hope you stop by when we get our first interview up, its gonna be a cute one:)

Etsy holiday loving.

You really have to love ETSY for shopping for holiday gifts. They really have unique stuff. I know that I put a few things on my wish list for my boyfriend to get me;)

Well I did get this tote:



Its from my boyfriend!!! Isn't it just so cute?? She has a lot of totes to choose from, even a typewriter one for all my Type loving friends:) Go check her out, her totes are priced really well and would make a great gift for sure.




I am in love with this necklace. Isn't it just so different, and the colors are so intriguing and eye catching!! That is not the only one I love in their shop, there are quite a few I wouldn't mind owning. Their are also bracelets and broaches to choose from to. Go look!

I was able to find some more cute kiddie gifts on ETSY, a few finger puppets for my boyfriend's youngest nephew. I really love these, and I am sure they will be appreciated both by the child and the parents. The attention to detail is great, I don't think I would have the patience to stitch these little guys, so for the price, they are worth it. They also have some ornaments, and stuffed cupcakes, and numerous other plush goodies.

This really is the kind of stuff you wouldn't find in a store, that's the beauty of part handmade items. They have really cute gifts for kids and adults alike.


Tonight we are gonna watch Tropic Thunder(we need a little comedy in our lives today) and I might attempt to make little houses, almost like the one in this very artsy ladies post. I bought this snow stuff tonight while out at the supermarket, I am thinking that maybe I shall put some on the roofs of the house and make ornaments out of them?! I'm in the mood to play with glitter, its just so festive.

Oh, before I go, I want to mention this really great magazine I picked up last week. I had been eyeing it for a week and then finally treated myself because it was $14.99( a tad bit for me to be spending on a magazine) But its all about where women create(hence the name) it gives insights into their worlds where they make things, like their studios. I love to read and see the whole creative process that people go through. Its very inspiring, you should treat yourself if your like me and have an interest for that.

So I am looking around on the Internet, putting together a little list for Will to choose gifts from for me for Christmas(little things) And I came across the most adorable digital camera I have ever seen. I know their are plenty of you guys out there like me who own a vintage box camera, so I am sure you will go ga-ga over this just like I did.

Urban Outfitters had such great gifts to give. I think half of my list has Urban Outfitters on it, that and Fred Flare.

Another cute thing I saw(and asked for) is this computer vacuum cleaner. I don't know about you, but there are days when I will be eating breakfast or lunch or even dinner while on my laptop and crumbs will get in the key. Also dust, lets not forget that. Check out this for all your keyboard cleaning needs!

As for my holiday shopping, I can cross of two kiddies from my list.
One of them is getting some really cute felt food, they love to play in the kitchen and whats better then some pancakes, strawberries and pasta?????


I purchased these from the lovely BeckyM Etsy shop. Such a great gift idea for that little chef!


Then for another young one on my list, I purchased a really sweet sewing kit that includes two elephants to be sewn. A mother and its baby, really good for beginners. I know this will be loved because the kid I bought this for has been expressing her interest in sewing and on top of that she is highly creative.


This kit was purchased from Kit and Caboodle Design Etsy shop.

I am aiming for 50% handmade this Christmas. A few people I am buying for are wishing for either kitchen goods like frying pans, and video games, and I don't believe they make those handmade:)

And its Turkey Day.

So, its here, can you believe it??? The holidays always come and go so quick, there for the years come and go so quick. Especially as you get older it seems, like when your a kid you count down the days till these things and they take forever!!!





Last night we headed down to see the inflation of the balloons for the NYC Thanksgiving day parade, can we say crowd herding. Yikes. It was chaos, and given the lack of sleep I had the past few days, I was a tad cranky. Well he caught the site from a afar, kinda gave up on waiting on a massive line and hopped in a cab and headed back to a pub we like to go to.
We visited Herald Square, everything is so festive once again. The Macy's window in my opinion is OK this year, nothing special. Its the places on 5Th avenue that really make you "wow".




I ended up taking pictures and joining all the tourists, why not? Its the holidays:)

Of course you can tell that my photo taking skills are quite honestly, crappy. Its that and also my camera isn't one of those fancy ones........................one day!

The Empire State building was decked out in its Turkey colors, looking good.




I am still tired, need more coffee.
Have to paint my nails, gather myself.

We will stick to this post being a Happy Thanksgiving/start of the holidays sort of entry and leave it at that.

I am thankful for all of you guys and the turkey I will be eating later, lol.

After the pardoning of a turkey.

LOOK away if you cant handle turkeys being slaughtered. This is after she pardoned a turkey, she then gave an interview while one of the turkey farm workers carried on killing many more, probably even the one she pardoned. Funny but not. And to think she was almost our VP. Ramble, ramble, ramble and so not aware!

I did make something Cathy!

This is for my sister who constantly bothers me about making things. Its not so easy to make things lately, I wake up early I get home late, and I get lazy on the weekends. What can I say. However I was asked to be a guest designer over at Work your Soul, and it did kick my butt in gear to get something together. I think I work better under a bit of pressure and when I do things last minute. All in all though I had fun and I adore Jen and Kim, I feel flattered that they would ask me to put together something for them when I feel that their stuff is always just soooooooooooooo amazing. I had fun with this one, and I used alot of colors and I might just do something else that's "crafty" this weekend, just for you CATHY! hahahaha.

This here picture is of one of my favorite beaches out on the East end of Long Island where I dwell ed for about 7 years. Its called Moores Lane and it is on the Long Island Sound side(for those fellow Long Islanders). I have sat on those rocks, fished off of them, lay ed on them(to get some sun) I remember spending one of the last times with a good friend there fishing shortly before he passed away. That beach was home to many a bon fires ones which included the incident of me stepping on a piece of glass and gaining a giant gash to the bottom of my right foot, which still lives on through a huge mound of scar tissue.
I took this picture on a day after I had moved away, back to where I used to live. I went to visit my very best friend and we took a hike down the paths that led to this beach. There was this white ring in the sky(which you can barely see) it looked so surreal and the colors where beautiful. Oh how I miss it out there, so many memories, so many stories to tell:)
