My dad the vampire. The real true blood!

This past weekend I attended a crop on Sunday(that in itself is a whole other story, yikes) BUT anyway, I got like 4 layouts done in between running off to Applebess with my friend and drinking some apple Sangria, hahaha. This layout is inspired by my friend Danielle who came up with the title while we scrapped in Ohio, I decided to run with it. It is also inspired by my dad and his very cool Vampire costume he wore many many moons ago, oh and of course True Blood.

I just had to add some drippy black and red paint:) Happy Halloween a tad early, but I am a busy bee this week and do not know if I will be back in time to wish you all a wonderful haunting. I am off to see The Local Native on Friday and then possibly walk in the Ashbury Park Zombie walk in NJ. It sounds like a ton of fun and they are trying to break a Guinness record. So enjoy all of your candy and parties, and remember to have a ghoulish night, lol.

An American crafts challenge.

So today I lit my fall scented candles, put on some horror flicks and started scrapping. I decided to participate in an American Crafts challenge. This weeks challenge on their blog was to create a girl inspired layout using 2 or more AC products. I did a layout all about my Chicago trip last fall to see Danielle, Jen, and Mandy. It was a great girl weekend and it deserved a layout and probably more then one for sure:)

Once again I used water colors, I just love mixing them in with my layouts. The American Crafts products I used were:

Dear Lizzy white foam Thickers in Fantastic, Pink finger from the Clubhouse plastic celebration package, Star rub ons from Mini Remarks Rock Star set, Craft fair paper with houses on it.

Hiya

I really am running out of titles for posts I tell ya. Hmmmmmmm, brain storm new titles for blog posts(another thing on that very long, never ending list)

Well we do have a challenge up at The Creative type, as well as a design team call, our very first in over two years.

I whipped up a layout a day before I posted this challenge, and I have to say, I love it. I have no scrapped in a bit, been overwhelmed with life, work, working in life, yada yada(did I make any sense?) As I said in my previous post, I am all for water colors these days and I love the effect of them as my layout background, fun:)

Yesh, so um go over to the Creative Type, participate and maybe even try out for our team!

In other news, this Ali Edwards post and video have really inspired me to go for the gusto this year and try out the December Daily. Also these tags from Elle's studio give me all sorts of ideas for a December daily as well.

Ok, I am off to watch the old school Wolf man, a triple feature with the boyfriend while organize country plans for Sunday:)

Create, create

So today on my day off, I accomplished a lot:)

I did my layout for the upcoming
Creative Type prompt. I did my ATC card for the newest Simply Artistic challenge, and I made a little something for a new friend:)

I feel good. However right now I can only share one of those things, the other 2 I can share at a later date when they are posted on the sites.

This is a wall hanging I made today for someone who is inspiring me at the moment. I think the quote works perfectly for her, and I hope she can hang it somewhere that she can see it everyday and feel like the possibilities are endless. I have been dying to pull out my water colors ever since I have been using kiddie ones with the child I watch. I had forgotten just how freeing they are, and also therapeutic they can be. This was the second project today that I used some water colors in, and I have to say you may see more of this on pieces to come.

Well we are in for a busy few days coming up here, this may be my last post till next week. Till then...................stay crafty:)

Happy days are here again.

First of all, today is Friday, yes I know its Thursday but in Patty land it is Friday:) Could not be happier, this week was full of rain, playgrounds, painting, play doh and some Max and Ruby(kiddie show) The joys of being a nanny, but do not get me wrong, I love my job. I just welcome a day off more then I used to, that is for sure.

This morning I received an email from Paper N stitch that I was one of their daily picks. By the time most of you read this, I will no longer be, but I was and that made me smile. It was for this lovely set of brown, flowered, stackable mugs.

They of course are still available over at thee ole shoppe.


This weekend like I said we have the NYC Comic Con. We have made it into a panel interview for thee one and only Corey Feldman. I am super psyched to meet one of the Frog brothers themselves, hopefully up and close and in person. Also, hopefully I will have photos to share with all of you Corey fans out there.

Tomorrow I have shipping to do, photos to take, some Creative Type stuff to do, and I must search for my flip cam so I can make some fun videos this weekend.

Now I am off to enjoy some wine:)

Its October

Well it appears September has flown on by, like that, snap.
We are settling into the Fall months which I adore. I have been burning pumpkin candles galore and dreaming up tons of projects for those cold nights spent inside. Now if I could only find the time. Yes I am still complaining about lack of time, but its the truth. I used to have Tuesdays and Thursdays off as well as weekends and now it is just all wonky. I guess I took my time off for granted, I really did. I just need to learn how to manage the time I have. Now how to do that? This weekend we have the Comic Con in NYC, next weekend is the Oyster Fest as well as a country apple picking trip with Kara, the following weekend is The Local Natives and of course Halloween. Before you know it, it will be November. Yikes.

Today I am photographing many new vintage items for my shop that I am very excited about. Hoping to update that later in the day. I feel like all of my favorite, unique, fun pieces have sold out and my shop has been looking very sad. I must remedy that ASAP.

If you did not know, The Creative Type is back in session and I am back in session with them. Me and Danielle have taken over the blog, once again and have added a bunch of new faces! We are also going to have a brand new feature every month that is gonna be a lot of fun, so stop on over there and check it out. Oh and one more thing, on October 15Th we will be posting a call for a few more DT members. We look forward to seeing tons of creativity.

What else, what else. Geez, every word has escaped me.

Today the ever so wonderful Jen sent me my grey cowl in the mail:) I have been wearing it all day, it is soft and cozy and just so wonderful. Thank you Jen!!! I am advertising over on her blog this month, so stop on over and see what she has going on. Also you really have to stop on over at her ETSY and stock up on those scarves, cowls and hats. They are just made with a lot of attention to detail and make the best gifts this holiday season.
