Breathless.

Today I read an article about an Autistic man from London who took a 45 minute helicopter ride over the Manhattan Skyline, then proceeded to draw the whole thing from memory over at the Pratt institute! Wow is Pretty much all I have to say. I have walked NY city streets oh so many times, have been high up in many buildings, on many bridges in the area and there is no way I could ever remember every detail like he did. Its amazing, simply put. Read story here.

Overall prize pictures, finally.

Well, I took everything I have received so far(we have about 5 more packages on there way) and I snapped away. I am really hoping for this raffle to be somewhat successful, I am a tad worried that it wont be and after so many people donating such wonderful stuff, that would be a bummer.

BUT chin up, move along and just keep on spreading the word. I feel that this is for such a special cause, one so close to my heart. Yes there are organizations galore for different things like Breast Cancer, and believe me I do believe that they are very important. But when something so close to home effects people I love very dearly, I only see the need to help out the best I can.

This to me is my way to help, using my passion, my hobby and reaching out to friends and even strangers in the scrap booking community and seeing if we can come together to help support a small cause.

I wanted to have a picture of just how big the prize has become! I did not realize myself until I took it all out and tried to take a good picture(its not the best but it will do) Also I made a small video for more close up details.

Thank you guys!!! I dont have huge hopes, but I have hopes!!!

I think I saw a snowflake:)

Yes, I did, I did. On my way home this morning from my friend's house I could have sworn that there were a few snowflakes. Here in our home, we are pro winter, I would not mind living somewhere that has tons of snow. I can be such a home body!!

So last night I helped out my friend's who are throwing a Halloween party this weekend by cutting out bats. They are putting together all of these great homemade decorations, so wish we had a place to do the same. I am totally looking forward to the party, and tomorrow night I have to get working on my costume. Its all about the zombies!!!!

Prompt # 21 is up at The Creative Type! Negative space is the name of the game this time.

I have shown this one before, but its my take on Prompt #21:)

Well I just wanted to say hello everyone! I feel so caught up in so much at once that I have not had a chance to really get around to other people's blogs and say hello, or comment and that's a bit of a bummer. I will after this holiday weekend is over.

Getting ready for Halloween.

I couldn't be happier that Halloween is actually on a Saturday this year!!! So perfect, that means you don't have to worry about waking up early for work, or if you have a bit of a hangover from Halloween cocktails:) This year we actually have plans, aside from sitting around, eating candy and watching Halloween flicks over and over again(don't get me wrong, I love doing that) But its always good to get out and put on a costume and have a good time every now and then on Halloween.

This year we are heading on over to our friend's who is throwing a Halloween party, we are really looking forward to this. I still though however have to get the rest of my costume, I decided that I will be an old lady..................................zombie!! Wrinkles, cuts and all:) lol.

Will of course is being a Star Trek character, I think he calls them "red shirts"

My friend is also going with us and she is going as DJ Tanner from Full House, hilarious, so random and off the wall.

With all of these happenings, I knew I had to get some sort of mini book kit that I can use to make a Halloween album. I actually found some great stuff on a site that I have read about through other people, Scrap Book Alley(or on some Youtube videos) They don't charge tax or shipping. I was able to snag up a bunch of The making memories stuff that I showed in my video for the giveaway. I fell in love with it as soon as I opened the package and I knew that I had to go find me the same thing. And I did.

So that was my excitement for the morning, haha. I am heading back to work this afternoon, which I am quite happy about, I have cabin fever oh so bad!!

I will soon be adding the donation button on my site and the memorial site for those of you who want to purchase raffle tickets. This will be done through a special Pay pal account that will be linked up directly to the bank which is home to Cecilia's fund.

My very sweet friend Cynthia is actually working on the whole online flier for me! It will have all of the details. For those of you who purchase raffle tickets, we will be sending them via email that way you can have them to print out. Also I will be having a special that if you buy 5, you get 2 free. So a better chance for you to snag the prize.

Also, I have started to add widgets on the right side of my blog for those who have contributed:) So be sure to check them out.

What are your plans for Halloween?????

We have boxes.

Two more boxes came today. One from Making Memories, and let me tell you, such a great kit!!!! WOW:) And a big box from Creative Xpress which I am just getting ready to open. Videos to follow!!!

I am hoping to have all the details and raffle tickets up for sale in the beginning of November!!

Be sure to check back for more(I will also be posting them on my Youtube account)

Tissues and great voices.

Well I am home sick today and probably tomorrow(well I am always off on Tuesdays) We got a movie in the mail from Netflix, and have dined on hot dog stand fare(pretzel for me) I have been doing some Internet venturing, and I have found a new favorite band!

I found them on Sarah Bowen's site, and fell in love with the "My Favorite things" cover. Her voice is just so sweet, I love it. So now I have been on an uploading spree of Pomplamoose and her solo Nataly Dawn. You can download all of the cover songs for free off of their Myspace. And you can purchase their originals on itunes

I especially love her cover of Edith Piaf's "La Vie en Rose"

Well, my raffle giveaway to benefit Cecilia is coming together oh so nicely.

The following companies will be donating product:

Tim Holtz

Making memories

Studio Calico

Label Tulip

Evalicious

Ormolu

Creative Express

I will be listing more as we go along as well as all of the details!!!

Part two of the zoo

Well this is part two(and the final video) of our Bronx zoo trip. As you can tell, Simon and Garfunkel plays like 10 thousand times in both videos, I am not good with movie editing, so its sort of funky but you get the point. Will was really satisfied with the final part of the video where he is shaking his popcorn bag(lol, he was actually mad) and I must fix my hair like sixty times. Oh well, its to the point, what can I say?

What else?.....................I did a new layout!! I got some new things today, I lack in the embellishment department, so I stocked up on some. I tried to stick to the discounted things, and I have to say I found a good handful of pretty decent items. This layout is of CC and her dad at the Strawberry Festival this past June. I decided to make it bright and colorful. When I scanned it though, the background came out look like I did it on one of those big manila office envelopes, it was actually a really bright yellow. Oh well:)

I have been working on a very big giveaway that I will be holding from November-December. I will be selling raffle tickets for a dollar, and we have some pretty big sponsors so far that are going to be donating. All proceeds from the tickets will go directly into Cecilia's fund through Capital One bank. If you or someone you know would like to donate a scrap book related product or service, please free to email me at coloredsprinklegirl@hotmail.com. Otherwise be on the lookout for more details!!!!

In memory of.

I just finished working on a simple blog for my friend and her daughter. It is a memorial page for Thomas, and it also includes details on a fund that has been set up in Cecilia's name for her future. I am happy to have done this for my friend, I think its important for us to keep him alive in all of our memories.

You can visit it here.

I know, I know.

Well I while back I said "NO more short hair cuts" I was fibbing. Today I went and I chopped it all off, and I feel good about it. Ok, at first I did not feel good about it. I love the lady I go to, she does a great job, especially with color, but when she styled it....................eeeek, not so good. My hair was so greasy and slicked back and a bit spiky, I almost had a heart attack with pure regret. As soon as I got home I washed it and dried it and man I felt so much better.

Now on to my 4 day weekend!!!!

3 years

It has been three years since I pretty much met and started dating Will. Awwww, isn't that sweet?? I think it may be my 2ND longest relationship(the first one was just a mess, I tell you)

Me and Will get along pretty damn well(except when he is being stubborn and also when I have to plug in my blow dryer and knock over half of his Star trek figures) We like the same music, same movies, same places, and he doesn't mind my craziness and I don't mind his. He also thinks its cool that I scrap book, and once he made a page for me! haha. Then again, I attend all of his comic book conventions with him, and for now I have to live in a room full of Marvel and DC posters and collectibles, but one day that stuff will have its own room(maybe in the basement??).

He's a dork, but I can deal. You should see his old man dance!

This weekend we are going to the Bronx Zoo for our three year anniversary(we rather that over any romantic dinner, that's just cheesy) Its gonna be a nice cool fall Sunday, perfect for visiting the gorillas. I may just break and get a coffee. So if your reading this Will, happy anniversary, I will give you a card tomorrow:) lol.

Laugh!

Well I decided that I should try and participate in more challenge sites, they really help out alot. I am such a lame duck when it comes to scrapping, I can never get my head in the right place. I am usually to busy online checking out everyone else's creative goodness, and I just let mine slip on through the cracks. Its bad I tell you.

I decided to play along with Category stories, their newest prompt is all about the word laugh. That
's just perfect for someone like me, half of my laugh is pretty much spent laughing(ok I am over doing it), or being around others who laugh, that's the best way to be surrounded.

As I have talked about in my last post, I am using challenges and other inspiration to help me get this special scrap book done. So for Category stories I used two pictures that were taken on New Years eve of 2008. My friend's daughter was passed out in her high chair, she was pretty much partied out. We decided to make it look like she partied hard, and of course it became a photo op especially for her and her daddy. Of course we were all cracking up, and I am sure one day she will see these pictures and have a good chuckle as well. So that's my laugh story for this go round:)

I have been fiddling with Photo shop and I am trying to piece my scanned 12x12 layouts together, so please bare with me, they are not 100 % pieced together right. One day!!!

Off to go look at this blog a little more.

The Creative Type is back.

Well I just finished posting the newest prompt over on The Creative Type. This time around, we are playing with masking.

I have to tell you that this was a challenge for me for sure, and even though I have done it in the past, I had a hard time this go round. I think the reason why it was so hard for me, was because I used this challenge to get one of
my friend's pages done for her daughter.

I am trying to make this book something special, and its a very emotional thing to work
on, I didn't think it would be(silly me). I decided that I would use certain challenges including ours to push me along on this journey of creating this scrap book. So for the first page of the whole book I started off with The Creative Type's prompt # 20 "Masking".

Those are images of Thomas and CC when she was an itty bitty baby:) She is almost 3 now. I want her to be able to look though the book and just see what a great dad he was.

Ok, well I have to get some things done(including sending out something to a Beth Perry) hehe.
Go to the library and get some movies
Oh and be bad and get some Carvel, yikes.

Head on over to The Creative type and play along with us. As always we have a great guest designer and a fun prize:)

6 days and counting.

Well I am on day 6 of no coffee! I stopped drinking it because I noticed it was making me awfully anxious and I just cant handle that feeling. Not especially when I have to commute into a crowded city and deal with crazed people, and a baby all day. Not the best feeling. I have switched to decaf tea, especially green and mint and some regular Darjeeling tea. Eventually I will start maybe some half decaf coffee, I just cant live without my Starbucks White Chocolate mocha's in the winter, oh no. We will see what happens:)

One more day and The Creative Type will be back in full swing. I have missed our little challenge site, and although I was somewhat MIA during the last few months of it being up and running, I am excited to see it back. This past June I was able to finally meet a few of the girls from the team through Sisiversary and over the past few months I have gotten to know all of the girls. Now we are adding 4 more ladies, and I cant wait to get this started! Be sure to head on over and get to know our new Typists.

I know that everyone is pretty hyped about Where The Wild things are debut, but have you checked out the soundtrack?? My oh my, awesome. Such a great pick, Karen O and the kids, and great reviews so far to!

Are you getting excited?? Love this soundtrack oh so much.

Today I am loving this blog.
Cleaning and organizing my paper corner.
Watching some fall inspired movies.
Drink some tea
and probably take a nap!

More ATC goodness.

Happy Friday!!! I am all ready for my 4 day weekend, now if I can just get around to doing everything I have told myself I will do:) I forgot to share my Kawaii ATC's with you. I found pictures of them on my camera while organizing that(one thing off of my list) Luckily about a year ago I received a package from someone of all sorts of scrapping supplies and in that package happened to be lots of Kawaii papers and stickers. I never used them, so when I heard there was going to be a Kawaii ATC swap, I knew I had to get in on it. And the rest is history.

I just have to say that Danielle you know I love ya!! She made the goofiest layout of me, and it made me smile and of course laugh. Go here to see!
Soon soon there will be some layouts made of my lovelies:)

Speaking of lovelies, lookie what I found on my computer, a lone bad video of what appears to be me and Jen!!!!

And this one, because Jen is just such a super fun, great personality sort of girl! Fameeeeeeeee.

And before I go........................this girl's blog is just crazy!! 13 years old and she is like a fashion prodigy. An old soul in a young body, way wise beyond her years.
Ok off to work on some wine and watch some Johnny Depp:)

Beau-ti-ful

This happens to be one of my all time favorite songs, its so touching yet so beautiful as well as the video.

I came across this blog on an embroidery blog. How gorgeous is this ladies art? She paints and stitches on her artwork, and to me its just perfect!

"Spider watercolour"

mixed media is so inspiring with limitless possibilities:)
