Happy Halloweeenie:)

Ok, so its not Halloween for another hour, but by then I hope to be fast asleep. I have a very very early then busy day tomorrow. And as we all know, its Halloween, which is one of my favorite holidays. I love it for its magical feeling, I don't need to go out and celebrate just to enjoy it. Something I have realized over the years. I will be working till 4ish and then heading out to my sister's with Will for a night of scary movies, I even bought all of us the old school wax Lips that have vampire teeth. Brings back memories:) I'm sure I will bump into costume wearing people galore, tomorrow is the big Village Halloween parade, wish I could have made it but just cant.




I feel like I need a bigger update, and I do have things to say and to show, but I am just gonna leave this at a Halloween greetings post. I hope you all have a safe one, and have fun, even if it is staying at home and eating mounds of candy while letting yourself get scared shit less by Horror movies galore.

Let me attempt.

Let me attempt a semi blog post. Apparently there is some sort of windy, rainy storm going on outside which is causing our electric to go on and off quite a few times, lovely.

So its the weekend, I have become so grateful for weekends since I started working again. They are definitely muchly needed and happily awaited:) Today we just went up to Target, damn you Target. They have so much great stuff, I had a shopping cart full of things, which I winded putting back most of the stuff(I have weird shopping habits) Anyway, I got some black tie up boots, a new hat and fingerless gloves, as well as some containers to organize all of my clothes and what have you. I am on the search for a wallet, and I think I may have found one at this site. I mean even if you don't like the wallets, the site alone is just awesome! Some really neat stuff there. Go look.(This is the wallet I like)

Tomorrow we are aiming towards getting to the movies to see "W". It appears to be good.
I am majorly pissed off at a seller on Amazon. Does it really take almost 2 weeks for a book to go from FL to NY??? You have got to be kidding me! It is that new Keri Smith book, and I want it so bad, I am on the verge of cancelling and just buying it on my own, at like Barnes and Noble or something.

Halloween is coming so soon, anyone doing anything fun? Its going to be low key for me and Will, he is temporarily handicap and plus we have a family party the nest day, so we really cant party all that much. Gonna go to my sister's and watch some scary movies and just chill out.

I think I'm just babbling about nothing at this point. For the sake of my blog I am going to zip it now. Goodnight!

Why my job is great.

Well aside from all the responsibility of watching babies and children(which by the way I can handle) I get to eat ice cream at the park, watch "Its the great pumpkin Charlie Brown" like twenty times, color, read great children's books aloud with some fabulous voices to boot, make puppets, listen to the cutest things that kids say, watch a baby pretty much transform before my eyes, go on great walks on some of the best streets in the city(while pushing a stroller of course) really basically have a different schedule every day and be free to wear whatever I feel comfortable in. I really am loving my new job, and I'm very happy things turned out this way.

This is just a random gathering of things.

Coffee cart gentlemen on the corner of Spring street just as you step out of the subway station have great coffee! Since when did I stop buying from the little people and going to all the corporate coffee shops?? OK, well there was one time, or two times when I had a cup of burnt coffee given to me, maybe that was when.

People actually have strollers for their dogs!!!! What in the world gives?? I mean at first when the doggie clothes came out I was a bit confused, but then I thought that the little dogs do get cold so its kind of important. BUT STROLLERS????? Oh come on!!


Why do good shows get cancelled??? We have been watching "Freeks and Geeks" which I must have missed when it first came out. I was 20Ty and always out and on the go, TV wasn't in my time frame, so I missed it. I love that show, I'm catching up on all of the episodes with the wonderful Netflix. God how I love Netflix. I am still working on Gossip Girls, but I do get upset when I see commercials for the new ones that are on, BECAUSE I just cant watch them, it would ruin it.

Will got Nintendo off of Ebay, we need to get Zelda, that the game I loved the most.

I decided to donate all my scrapping supplies as well as craft supplies that I don't use to "Make a wish foundation". I have been in touch with them, and they are more then grateful to have them and I am more then grateful to send it their way!! I highly suggest that as an option when your clearing out.

I attended my first Upper East side kiddie birthday with one of the children I watch. What an experience, tons of sugar and a pirate theme. Craziness. I'm sure I will have more to go to in the future.

I have been on the verge of taking scissors to my hair and chopping off what has grown out. I am holding back, but its sooo very very hard. I want my hair long but I cant deal with the growing part, such awkward hair stages going on.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm, that's about as random as it gets for now. Its like a blogging purge of sorts, haha.

Oh and Will has a pretty cast on his right hand. He fractured his pinkie and the side of his hand. Poor poor boy.

Working the soul

Oh so if you haven't seen this new challenge site......................then you must. First off I love both of those girls who run it, Jen is my Yo Gabba Gabba friend(haha) and Kim is just a bundle of creative energy wrapped up into a cute, hip girl's body.

I worked it with the black and white, 100%, and when I was done and I looked at it I wondered if I should even add a hint of color and decided not to. The picture is black and white, the hounds tooth fabric(which is from the red velvet October kit) is black and white, the card stock is black, white gesso, black sparkly stars that I got this weekend, and black marker/pen. So I did not do the black and white effect on the computer, it really is this way:)

Don't you just feel that black and white pictures are just more intriguing??? They leave you guessing, looking deeper into the image, they create shadows and depths that some photos don't have. It just shows you that color isn't always everything.

Loved this challenge, love that blog. I cant wait to see what they have in store!

On hiatus.....

From all that "My So Called Life" watching:) Oh, I also forgot to mention that on Friday we saw "Nick and Norah's infinite play list" and it was so good, so cute, so just our kind of movie. Loved it.
I recommend it.

Ok, I have decided to try out a few challenges, helps me get in the mode of making things.

The following is the newest TAIF prompt. It was to draw inspiration from an album cover. I used the Elliot Smith "New Moon" cover as my inspo. I have always loved how that one looked. I then pretty much did the same sort of deal, moon, buildings and then lettering. I first drew my words and then cut them out with an exacto knife, I laid some white paper behind them to make them easier to see. It says "New York City nights", because in my opinion they are the best. There is so much about New York city nights, when your walking around, going from place to place, soaking it all in. That is why I enjoyed the movie so much(the one mentioned above) because it was just that, an adventure through one of the best cities in America in my opinion.
And there ya go.

Just had to brag for all you fans out there.

Me and my boyfriend are gonna have a "My So Called Life" marathon today:) Last night when we were in the city over on St Marks place, we stopped into this video store that we visit when we go there. They were having a close out sale and I was able to pick up some good movies. I came across the "My So called life" box set for like 50Ty with 30 % off and ran and told Will, I have wanted this for about 2 years now. I was on the verge of buying it when he let me know that he had bought it for me for Christmas this year. With that said, I opened it today and we decided to just have a day of watching it non stop. God how I loved that show, now its alll mine:) I remember when they took it off the air, I was soo upset, I wrote the network, haha. And Jordan, my oh my, he was definitely one of my teenage crushes, and of course I so wanted to be like Angela. You see how crazed I am about this show????

For those of you who don't know the show, your missing out. Its just great and it brings back good memories. Its right up there with my "Wonder Years" box set! Next is "Freeks and Geeks" All the good shows must end I guess.

It is very hard to stay away from your little blog, even if you tend to be a bit busy. Its like a link between you and all the people you communicate with online, and I guess when its detached it becomes a bit weird.

Yes, that's what I have concluded.
I decided to try out another banner, I had to comments(one from my sister) where I was told my new one was boring. Well I was trying to tame my blog a bit, get a little more simple but I guess its not me.

I decided to make a banner using a piece of a layout I made, I think its better then the last and just right, we will see.

I received my RVK in the mail yesterday, it really has got me wanting to cut, paint and glue........................this weekend I will.

Just finished watching the 2ND debate, please wake me when its election day. Obviously my mind is made up and I'm just ready for this all to be over.

Last weekend I went away to see a friend and we had some good times. Its always good to reconnect with friends you haven't seen in awhile and just go out and have fun. We also went apple picking and I have some pictures I need to edit and post to share.

In 45 minutes me and Will, will have been dating 2 years to the date. We will celebrate this weekend with a movie/fish and chip/pub date. The pub being the one we first hung out at. Soooo cheesy:) lol.

I feel like I have sooo much to blog about, mostly blogs I have found and things that have caught my eye. BUT I just cant find the energy to type it and plus I have to get ready for bed.

Instead of babbling on about everyday nothings and rants, I am going to take a week or so break from the blogging world(from my personal blog)

I ordered the October Red Velvet Kit tonight and it may definitely get me going again. I am in dire need of printing up some photos from this summer. I also have a few ideas I'm sitting on that I am going to put into action, hopefully next weekend. We will see!
I am also going away this weekend and I will not be touching base on here, because I will be having fun for sure.
Plus, Ive been so busy with work and I really want to finish organizing my new blog layout. In due time.
