One last post on my Acer. Its all about hair cuts and Sisiversary 2009.

Well what does that mean you say? Well it means that I am selling this computer to my sister and getting a new laptop, not like this is old, but its not so portable for me and my ex boss bought it for me. And well, I don't like her much, so this kinda holds bad vibes for me. Silly.........yes I know, but I am totally crushing on a jade green Dell, and it just be mine oh so soon.

Yesterday was my last day of work until July 23rd. Although I adore my job, its nice to have a break from the daily grind of the commute into the city, the pushing the shoving and the occasional cursing at people(OK its not occasional, its more like often!) I totally need this, I have been constantly on the go without a chance to unpack, always off to work the next day so its nice to finally get things settled and organized.

To celebrate my last day of work yesterday, I decided it was time to give in and get a haircut. Time to surrender to the scissors. I know I have been saying no haircuts, BUT my hair was just so ratty and like weird lengths that just didn't work. I walked into my favorite salon down in the Village, met my stylist and said "I need a haircut, maybe a cute bob" and she said "how about a color too?" (picture this in like a sarcastic tone kinda) I told her I didn't have much time, and plus I was a bit leery of how much it would cost me, but before you knew it, there I was getting a dye job and a great cut. I cannot complain, and I must say that I will never, ever again dye my own hair. She did such a great job.

From there(the hair cut) We were off to see Public Enemies(the hair cut was just in time to see my man Johnny, lol, this is what I told Will my real bf) It was pretty good, a little dragged out, but good. After the movie we headed on down to one of his comic book shops, then Pommes Frites with some good Irish Curry sauce for me. When we finished our french fries we made our way over to the Strand, which always overwhelms me, just so many books. I mean I am all about books, one day I would love to have a library room, but whenever I go in there I am just so confused and lost. Plus if confused and overwhelmed isn't enough, all the dust from the books gets me all sneezy. But, whatever, I got a book I have wanted for pretty cheap or at least cheaper then what they would have sold it for it like Barnes and Nobles. The name of the book is called Indie Publishing and its by Ellen Lupton.

Its a great book for book lovers, for those of you who are intrigued by publishing, all the aspects that go into making a book. In the back there are a few tutorials on different books you can make, I plan on attempting one of two during my vacation.

Oh, so I have like totally not filled you in on Sisiversary 2009. Bad me, yesterday Danielle asked me when would I blog about it?, so here I go, attempting to blog about Sisiversary 2009. Its sort of like watching TV and someone is cooking something really good and the chef is like "oh this smells so good" And you sorta want smell-o-vision so you can like smell it(is this making sense?) What I am trying to say is, there were so many fun moments, so many inside jokes and quotes for the weekend, its just so hard to really bring it all to life in my little old blog post. BUT I do have pictures to share with you. And here we go:

It was surreal to finally meet Jen and Sandy, it really didn't hit me until the moment I spotted them in the Nashville airport. They were just as I expected them to be, super awesome. After that, we met our roommates............................................................
Angie, Heather, Me, Sandy and Jen(the best roomies) Then we took the Stacey Fike and Niki Peterson Collage class(I forgot my camera for this one) Learned lots of good techniques and started a special collage inspired book which I will share someday when I finish it;) After the collage class we went to our Amy Tangerine File folder class which was so much fun. It couldn't have been any better then hanging out with these three chicks. This was before we gave in to sleep deprivation and called it a night. The next day there was an hour drive around in circles in search of a Starbucks(we are feigns I tell ya) Damn GPS didnt really help alot, but we conquered eventually.

And then there was scrapping galore, and of course chit chatting and laughing and all that good stuff that comes with hanging out with very cool people.
Lets not forget feeling up or um down Edward. Naughty scrappers. And we weren't the only ones who violated this poor cardboard Edward. On Sunday we all just hung out together and had a blast. It was great meeting Mandi and Vanessa as well, two equally fun, sweet, ultra creative girls. It made the weekend even better, it was like icing on the cake.

Then we all went to dinner at a Mexican restaurant,
went for a swim, and laughed our asses off all night long. Of course we got a phone call from the front desk, but come on, that just made the last night perfect!! I am stealing this last picture from Mandi. She took it on our last day in Tenn. I will definitely be keeping in touch with these girls from here on out. Oh wait, I forgot about something. When in Tenn. you always have to be on the lookout for people who look like Elvis. Don't ever forgot! It can be a rather scary situation....................... You can see the rest of my pictures here. Also, Jen, Sandy, Danielle, and Mandi all have a bunch of photos on their blogs as well. Ok, bye bye sweet Acer, you have been good to me this past year. Till next time when I am typing to you on my new laptop.

Oh, and I say lets all get Skype and have video chats, for real! Girls!!!!!

And P.S...................Happy 4th, light a sparkler for me:)

Oh So much to comment on:) Love love the hair:) beautiful. and you have inspired me to hold off in desperate hair times of taking things into my own hands. I can now wait until payday. Even though my roots are shameful- the "virginia slim smokin lady that wishes she could still tour white snake rootage going on." ok the description might be a little extreme:) but its bad:)
OK now for the next comment:) That bookstore sounds fabulous!!! I am so like you with books. I dream of the day of a big floor to ceiling library too:) And that indie publishing book I picked up last week. SO AWESOME. I so agree with you on how it gives you that behind the scenes.
Last but not least thank you for sharing more of sis:) So, felt like I went and I beyond glad you girls had a good time. I loved the foliage jungle pic's . Ok now that I have left the longest comment in blogging history. Have a good night:)
