So as most of you know, I work in the city. This is pretty much how my day goes:
Wake up(or hardly wake up) at 5 am(most days) I usually hit snooze alot.
Struggle to get ready
Catch the train, and enjoy the emptiness and silence until 4Th or 5Th stop in.
Pretend I am asleep so no one tries to sit next to me(hehe)
Get herded off the train to transfer to other crowded train(the good ole LIRR).
Stand on 2ND train, while watching fat business men sleep with their mouths open(where have their manners gone, the days when men would give women their seats?) Some of them even snoring.
Get herded out into Penn station, and gun it for the subway downtown.
Find best possible standing position on subway, being careful to keep balance while the train sways back and forth and becomes more crowded. This is where any personal space boundaries get broken at 8 in the morning, not a great feeling.
I finally hit fresh air around 8:10am, I can breath and I am no longer squished.
Now its coffee time(my favorite time of the morning) Head on over to Starbucks, grab a cup of coffee(usually regular coffee for me) grab a chair, sit and watch the people walking outside sometimes enjoy an orphaned paper thats left on the table.
Around 8:21 am or so, time to move along. This is when I step out of Starbucks on Spring and Varick, stand on the corner waiting for the light to change so I can continue on. I look down and there engraved into what once was wet concrete, now says " Trump is a Monster" Donald Trump that is. I look up to the left and I reminded of why someone has written this into the sidewalk, he is currently building a giant eye sore apartment building which is constructed of pretty much all glass. It takes away from any SoHo charm that is left at this end of Spring. The man is a monster, I mean he even has a horrible tv show to boot.
The light changes, I move along, I arrive at work at 8:27 am and I am greeted by a smiling, giggling little baby. So my commute is well worth it, and the writing in the sidewalk always makes me laugh in a way. With that all aside, there is nothing like a NYC morning.

love NYC. And public transporation-NYC is similar to Philadelphia like that. And Starbucks...
Trump is a monster with an awful comb-over...
ta!
exactly. the whole time i was reading that i was thinking "but you're in new york city!". *sigh*. will come visit soon! i need a nyc fix. have a great weekend my friend!!
Yeah, dont get me wrong, I love NYC oh so much. But its the daily work day commute thing that kills me. As soon as I get to work, its like a sigh or relief because from there I can go for a walk to the park, down to the village, or visit the Hudson.
And I dont mind the public transportation when its not a work day:)
Oh I'm so happy I'm not having to commute-and agree with you about Donald Trump-He is building a golf course on some of our beautiful unspoilt Scottish coast line.
