Time for a story, not a scrapping story or a happy story. Its a scary weird story!!! I do have to let you know that I have been watching way to many scary movies lately, and I feel it may have helped add to the whole experience, BUT my friend Mel had not and she was shaking in her boots.

OK here goes:
My friend Melissa and I made plans to go on this really awesome hike through the woods that leads you around these ruins of an old castle. The day started out great, it was a bit cloudy and not to hot, perfect weather for such an excursion. We park the car and head out on a trail(there was tons to choose from) It was fun just walking along and chit chatting, swatting bugs that were trying to eat our eye balls out and jumping over mud sludge and piles of horse poop from the people horseback riding. The trail was confusing and we never came across the ruins and then it started to drizzle. About an hour into our hike, we cross paths with the ONLY hiker on the trail that day. IT was a normal looking man, dressed in very camo color outfit and he just seemed out of sorts to me. My friend Mel said hello or whatever is polite to say when you cross paths with the only hiker, and we kept on walking. At that moment I turned around AND caught him staring at us and I mentioned it to Mel, and she just dismissed it saying he was just a guy hiking, yada yada(makes sense, right?) OK, we carry on and eventually about 10 minutes later come across a really cool partially dried up swamp and gigantic tree that has been overturned. We then stop to just chill and take pictures of the cool tree, we had finally found something semi cool to explore. Now here comes the scary part. Out of the corner of my eye I catch a plastic Tupperware sort of container under a tree with a somewhat large branch placed over it. The container was the kind you use for like your home to put say art supplies in, it was like teal and tan. I say to Mel, "Hey look at that container over there, how weird" so of course she dares me to go and open it, and I head on over to do so. I'm standing over by the box trying to kick it open(I didn't want to open it because of fingerprints, in case it was something horrible) At this point its stormy looking out, gray and rainy, really unsettling. OK so the picture is like this, me kicking at the box and Mel is on the path to the left of me staring and waiting to see whats going to happen, then behind her is some more trial and some trees on either side. Out of nowhere, NOWHERE!!!! Comes a voice that says.................." Find something?" eeekkkkk. It was the guy!! He had followed us, stealthily, through the woods in his forest matching outfit. I mean we had been walking for a good ten minutes down some random trail and he found us!!!!!!!!! He just quietly popped out from behind a tree while I was trying to open a mysterious box and in a really creepy voice had asked me if I had found something. At that point I pretended I didn't even see the box and I was like "oh no no, um we were taking that trail, ready to leave" I was like babbling on, trying to veer him away from the subject to get us out of there. Mel was looking at me with like terror in her eyes, wondering what to say, what to do, because the dude was right behind her. Then he started asking random questions about the trail and I was just yessing him, because I'm thinking this is it, we are dead, he is going to kill us. Finally we were able to keep on walking while he hung around the swamp waiting for us to probably leave, and when we weren't in his sight we just ran. We winded up walking through some neighborhood, turning and looking back every few seconds, he never left. Then we were walking on a major roadway in the pouring rain, it was like one of those scary movies you watch where the girls are being stalked, seriously!!! ITS NOT OVER YET either. We are walking along this major roadway, walking to the car which is like a mile and half away and a big white hummer almost causes an accident just so he could pull over and say to us, "You guys look like your in an emergency, jump in I will give you a ride" and Mel is like no thanks and she just keeps on walking and he was persistent, finally he just drove away.
Well we made it back to the car and we headed home, never to know what was in the box. It was a strange day in deed!
After all that though I leave you with some woodsy photos throughout this post!

Oh my gosh!! That is so creepy. You told it in a good way too because I got goosebumps! So glad nothing happened to you 2. Bring mace next time!!
Me and my friend both agreed that next time, along with the water we bring knives
dude, that's crazy. great photos though... weird people! maybe carry some sort of protection with you next time? mace? a hunting knife? a gun? a mallet?
it always makes me feel better. guns freak me out a bit... but i don't think it would be a horrible idea.
dang that experience we pretty creepy. thank goodness you guys got out there.
The box? hmmmmm before it got freaky, I thought it sounded like a Letterbox. They're little boxes that are hidden in trails. Inside is a little journal or postcards and a handmade stamp that signifys a the owner of the box. You're suppose to hide it and leave clues online. Then hikers are suppose to try and find your box. When you do find a letterbox you stamp you're journal with their stamp, then stamp their journal with one of your handmade stamps. If it's a postcard, you're suppose to write on the postcard and send it of in the mail. They're normally self addressed stamped postcards.
You can read more about here..
